Telefreak

Today my aunt took me to a local Casino. The Regency Casino in Athens is on top of the mountain and in order to get to it, one can either take a lengthy drive up that mountain or leave the car at the bottom and take the Telefreak (cable car) up to the top.

We drove on the highway to get to it and it seems that you can't take the highway in Greece without having to pay for using it. There are tolls everywhere.
You have to be careful which line you take. I've seen many cars pull up to ones where there's no attendant (as they're only for those who have a pass) and they then had to try to back up.
The casino is on the way to the Olympic Village...
... on top of that mountain.
My aunt decided to not drive up the mountain, but rather take the Telefreak. Um yeah, I'm scared of heights. First we had to enter the building that it's in and the inside had me distracted enough to not think about the fact that I'm afraid to take the ride up.

First up is the walls with birds on them - neat.
Then there was the enormous glass chandelier, I've never seen anything like it. This is the view from the bottom...
... from the middle, it's like a work of art!
Close up of the chandelier, neat eh? I wonder how long something like this would take to put together.
Ok, enough of the pretty, it's time to go up on the Telefreak. Eeeeeek!
This is safe, right? RIGHT?! Ack! I'm scared.
Side view of the mountain. There's still green everywhere here, even in December.
 Almost at the top.
I know you're not allowed to take photos in casinos but I don't always follow rules, especially when it comes to taking photos. Here's the machine my aunt and I spent some time at and no, we didn't win.
Of course when you stay in a casino, time flies by quickly and before you know it, it's night time and time to go home. I wish I had a better camera to take the night shots, but unfortunately this is as good as it gets. It was quite the view.
Till next time!

    1. Sure thing. If you ever get a chance, it's a nice place to visit, just not to stay for long, the way the politics are run in this country makes it tough to live in.
